“sorry” doesn’t reattach thumbs, marge

“I was wondering why you didn’t take the couch.”
“Yeah, well, I, uh, NO.”

“So how was the drive back?”
“Yeah, well, I, uh, NO.”

Along the lines of “good intentions” are “hypothetical situations.” It does neither of us any good if I were to say to you, “If we weren’t so far apart I should like to ask if you wouldn’t mind joining me for a coffee.” We both know the likelihood of that happening is very small, so why indulge in fantasy? It does neither of us any good to imagine what we would do if things were different. And if either of us felt strongly enough about it, we would have already turned ideas into action in spite of the obstacles. For my part, I don’t know you that well. The only thing I know is that I would like to get to know you better.

on infrequent appearances

It’s not like I have a life again. Far from it. Just work. And IRC. (Damn, what a timesink.)

I’ve started taking pictures again; you can see some of the fruits of my labor here.

Large sushi dinner last night, followed by anime: “Voices of a Distant Star” and the last two episodes of “Zaion: I Wish You Were Here”. “Voices”: beautiful, yet depressing. To some extent, so is “Zaion.” There were probably better ways to finish off the evening, especially considering my ongoing inner dialogue on the general subject of the two films and the application of the topic to my life.

You poked me…twice. I said I was quiet because I was tired. I wasn’t lying, but I wasn’t being entirely truthful, either. Please don’t poke me.

Spending a beautiful Friday afternoon watching a movie with friends, going mini-golfing, and then bowling…what could be better?

I started using my film camera again, for the first time in ages. I forgot how satisfying it is.

I got an old chat transcript from Mark, of a conversation from February… what a wonderfully innocent time, full of hope and promise. Strange that barely two months later I should be unable to form any sort of coherent thought on the subject, but that’s what happens when you set the blender to “puree.”

hello, yeah, it’s been awhile

I had my first EMS review (yearly performance review) on Monday. It went pretty well. I’m sure I would have blushed if I were the blushing type. My manager “expects great things from me” this year… I can only hope. I also got a Night On The Town (monetary) award for my recent work… I was in a pretty good mood on Monday.

So we’re going out to celebrate tomorrow night. Heh.

SPACEBALL ONE HAS NOW BECOME…

I no longer work at GE Medical Systems.

For GE Medical Systems no longer exists.

Say hello to Miguel Sanchez!

I mean, I now work at GE Healthcare.

How do you even pronounce “GEHC” so that it doesn’t sound stupid? “GEMS” was a much better acronym.

The business cards look silly, too. No flair!
